Ani's Year of TN's: The Second part.
Just a few things before we start…
Hey there, hope that you, the reader, find yourself
well in whatever time you are reading this! Welcome to another addition of
this, I honestly didn’t expect for this to happen but I suppose surprises are
always unexpected, that’s why they’re called as such!
It has been another 3 months, it means
another 3 sets of TN’s to go through, this would officially mark half the year
of continuously making TN’s non-stop which is honestly kind of insane, lots of
stuff have happened in and out of my personal life, the Olympics are happening
(they are peak). It is because of this that perhaps the wording in this blog in
particular might seem weird, I tend to usually write stuff the day or a few
days I finish the TN, and take some weeks before making the blog to really
polish stuff like grammar and maybe add stuff, so if you see me talk about
things that have happened now but not confirmed yet (or vice versa) it’s
because of this strange writing process.
Regardless, I’m happy for everyone that has
been seeing these silly little blogs, the first blog got a very positive
reception and I cannot thank you everyone enough for it, it means the world to
me and it inspires me to go even further beyond. I want to make this a reality.
I will give it my best and honest shot, so without further ado, here’s Ani’s 2nd
part of the Daily TN.

Y’know, this month was actually p’fun, mostly because for this one I wanted to do something a bit different. As I said before in the first of these blogs, for each month I had a week dedicated to a specific theme in terms of matches but for this month idk why I really just wanted to do something special. I gathered up with a bunch of friends on Discord on a server and essentially said “alright, give me whatever matchup you want me to do” and from there the matchups where given, I was bound by contract to do ‘em (not literally but I love my friend too much to say no) and welp, I got to work. Some friends managed to get 2 TN’s in the month. Either way this ended up being probably one of the more fun months in this project.
1-Pit (Kid Icarus) vs Lenneth (Valkyrie Profile)
This TN was given to me by a good friend of mine, a guy that I respect immensely; TheOneMunchlax it only made sense he proposed a JRPG of some kind lol. Honestly from what he told me and the little I looked into the game Lenneth is from (because yes I always inform myself about whatever I’m about to make a TN of) it seemed rather cool as an idea, sounds fun and despite the simplicity the idea of these like, heavenly-esk warriors send by deities wielding legendary treasures as weapons, sounds fun and would be interesting to give it a fair shot. Also it was just fun to make the TN in general, lots of lights and feathers and the sort.
2-Shadow The Hedgehog (Sonic) vs Sephiroth (FF7)
This one was proposed to me by Meyjax, it was the first (and it won’t be the last) Sephiroth matchup in the same month! It makes sense, FF7 Remake part 2 was out by this time and it was all the rage, people were hyped to throw basically the entire FF7 cast at anything they could imagine and Sephy here was a big one. Idk how the idea came to be, but honestly? Sounds funny and cool in equal measure so, I don’t mind it, I really wanted to give the tn a very grungy and “argggg 2000’s” poster vive, I think I did a decent job, overall, a fun time.
3-Bang (BlazBlue) vs Might Guy (Naruto)
This one was proposed by a good friend by the name of King “Tinnie” Conch, if you're reading this hiiiiiiiiiiiii wuv u. This one I remember seeing a lot in the early days of VS if that can even be considered a thing, before Might^2 was a thing and BlazBlue had games! Crazy times I know. Either way this matchup in particular is one my friend liked a lot and when he asked if I could do it I was like “hell yea sounds fun” I admit the TN could've probably come better, I still like the final result, in general it just sounds an extremely fun match from a VS or a general crossover perspective.
4-Slade (TT: Animated Series) vs Ch’rell (TMNT 2003)
This one was byyyyy SpidePidge they be the goat honestly tbh tbh, and this seems to be their favorite idea so yeah idk this was hype af to do. I was very excited to flex the brain with this one, I admit that Shredder’s render came out very… oof. But since I've become better at making renders (sort of) still, it was a fun time. Fun matchup too! It's always nice to see specific versions of characters and this is one of them where it just clicks y’know? Sounds fun and it would prolly go hard af so yea, would be happy to see it.
5-Scar (FMA) vs Kurapika (Hunter x Hunter)
This was from my friend TheBlackShulk he always has cool ideas to make TN’s about, he's super nice too. This match in particular I did have on a general list I always keep, when he mentioned the idea it was just an easy excuse to kinda move ahead this TN a few months ahead of its planned schedule. It was a fun time, simple but sometimes I like it simple. Despite always pressuring myself to do something of worth. I admit to not know much about HxH, even less about Kurapika but I do like learning about characters for TN's.
I remember coloring the eyes myself. Scar is another thing, I really like Scar and FMA as a whole so it's always a treat to work on a TN with one of ‘em, a good excuse to just fill the background with alchemy symbols and that sorta iconography. It sounds like a fun matchup, idk who wins but it's neat so I'm ok with that. I feel perhaps the TN could have come out a bit better, looking back at it rn I can’t say I quite like it now lol.
6-Yuta Okkotsu (JJK) vs Jotaro Kujo (JoJo)
This idea came from my good friend Medd. He's my goat and if you’re reading this I just wanna say hi (wuv u). He has given me many ideas for this daily TN thing and I couldn’t be more grateful. In terms on this match I admit to have seen Jojo but I haven’t seen JJK (weird considering I tend to do one JJK match per month it seems lol) but I’ve seen people like it a lot and that's enough for me, I really wanted to include their fellas in the TN, it was me exploring other modes and blending options and it was fun, I feel that even if this one didn’t came out amazing, It helped me to discover things that I would use later down the line.
7-Krang (TMNT) vs Robot (Invincible)
TMNT is just an infinite well of potential ideas isn’t it, I never stop being amazed at how many matches someone can come up with for just one series alone, pretty fascinating honestly. Regardless, TheRealCalHoward asked for this one and yea it sounds pretty fun, I like the idea. Robot is pretty unique amongst the Invincible cast and it would be fun to see it and Krang is just fucking Krang big brain alien fella inside large robot its peak. So yea idk, sounds fun, finding a Krang render was a bitch tho lmao.
8-The Joker (DC) vs Nemesis (Nemesis)
This one I remember well, Bang requested it so it would land on his B-day, I had no option but to oblige, it's a fun idea and hey, Bang’s my goat so, anything for him.
I will say, in a weird tangent, Joker gets a lot of matches doesn’t he? He seems like one of those characters people wanna see with a runback, I don’t blame them either. I do love the clown prince of crime, Bang liked this idea in particular and honestly it sounded fun! I need to read the Nemesis comics though, which might be a good excuse to do so honestly. Also this one was just, so much fun to do and not to brag or anything but I kinda killed it with the Joker side tbh tbh came out sick as fuck.
9-Griffith (Berserk) vs Ryo (Deviilman)
This one was from a very good friend of mine, Dek, probably one of the most talented people I know on this entire planet. When he proposed this one I did consider drawing the characters by hand and using them on the TN. But I ultimately decided against it for several reasons, all of them having to do with a crippling case of low-self esteem of which I would not like to expand on honestly. So, embracing the inner failure I tend to be sometimes I decided to just focus on what I could do and try to make something ok-ish. In the end I feel I did something nice, I like the subtle feathers and fire and the backgrounds being completely B/W. It's not necessarily good (seeing it rn I feel I could have done better on literally everything) but the process was nice at least, making renders for Ryo was a challenge, not a lot of ‘em when I did this one. The matchup itself is cool too, so all around, it was a fun time I suppose.
10-Shishio (Rurouni Kenshin) vs Joshua Graham (Fallout:New Vegas)
We can’t expect God to do all the work right?
This one was proposed to me by Purple, I hadn’t done any Fallout matches so it was an interesting challenge to really have to hunt down a render for Joshua because good lord almighty for a moment I considered giving up, so I just found this one which is straight from the game and said “fuck it amma make it work somehow” and I suppose I did. I feel lots of it goes into the background for him. Sishio was also an extremely fun time to plan out. I really wanted to give the guy that evil aura and flame-like escence y’know? As a match it sounds cool honestly. And I feel that despite it all the tn came out clean. I suppose limitations brew creativity.
11-Grapes vs Walnuts
This one was proposed to me by a good friend and extremely talented at both art and super smash brothers, MegaMario. I’ll never have the talent he possesses, he truly is one of a kind in this world.
This idea in particular is funny, idk how to explain it its just funny, I admit to have always liked grapes better, walnuts and the sort aren’t my thing sadly.
12-Toji (JJK) vs Jetstream Sam (MGS:Revengence)
Get ready because this is NOT the last time you will see Toji during the duration of this project, he’s just a very popular guy. PineappleGuyCarmine proposed this one, super chill guy and well, I didn’t wanna disappoint so I took it as a nice exercise to experiment with colors and the sort, the match itself sounds fun, and I feel like I did a decent job with the TN. Not really much else to say, if you see this pineapple hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.
13-Revan (Star Wars: KotOR) vs The Dark Urge (Baldur’s Gate 3)

I remember this one well, TMan asked me if I could do this one on his Bday and I'm not gonna say no to a friend. It was a fun time doing this one too so it's a win win I suppose. I really wanted to show the theme of good and bad sides and ofc typically that's red and blue and the mix is purple so that's what I used purple for the magic and bolts respectively. It all added up nicely I feel and even though I don’t think it's nowhere near one of my best tn’s it is still fairly ok. Hope ya liked it Tman, you deserve it.
14-Smallfry (Splatoon) vs Magikarp (Pokémon)
(check out Kiwi’s blog on this peak matchup plz, its peak I swear. Bonus blog here too)
This one was from my friend Kiwi, you may remember her from the V1 vs Neon white blog. She is super cool. Either way she proposed to me this matchup and it's just so incredibly peak that I just had to do it. It was so much fun to do it and get their “larger” forms in the back. Its so fucking good bro. It's a great match, I would love to see it, it sounds like the perfect amount of stupid and cool, its so peak.
15-One Billion Lions vs One Billion Sponebobs
This was proposed to me by my good buddy Starlou and like, what can I even say lol, its peak. That's really it honestly, it was fun all around.
If you look closely at the background you can see I used both the lion and Spongebob as a texture, which was a weird way in my head to show the quantity in numbers.
16-Zhongli (Genshin Impact) vs Dan Heng (Honkai: Star Rail)
I literally know nothing about Genshin or Honkai and I admit to have 0 interest in it (not hate tho), however I know people enjoy it and the games aren’t bad, I admit being very confused trying to identify who was who, either way this tn was made for my good fam Fado; the background was actually super fun to do, felt like I blended the colors nicely.
17-Red Skull (Marvel) vs Cobra Commander (G.I. Joe)
Joshski asked if I could do this one and goddam yes I was 100% on board with it cus this matchup is not only peak its PEAK, I feel it brought me a super interesting challenge in terms of how I wanted to do it and the aesthetic and man, I cooked. This is prolly one of my favorites so far tbh, it's not even that complex but it has that vibe, so much energy and just radiates “mwahahahahaha” idk how to explain it, I just had so much fun doing this one and I wanted to do something as large as the matchup itself y’know? And yes, this matchup is just so good, I would love to see it.
18-Malenia (Elden Ring) vs Shogun Raiden (Genshin Impact)
Twilty asked for this one, I admit that making the tn was actually pretty fun and the matchup despite the disparity in design and tone feels like it would go hard as hell so it gets a thumbs up from me. But I need to make a tangent to say how fucking hard was to find an Malenia image I could use as a render, I almost had to postpone this one until by miracle I found the official concept art and said “fuck it you will do” and yea it did it goes hard as fuck. So yea, thanks Elden Ring wiki.
19-Max Rockatansky (Mad Max) vs Shotaru Kaneda (Akira)
What can I say, my goat Purple again with some absolute peak, this one is definitely a weird but interesting one, the post-apocalyptic vehicle riding protags sounds fun honestly. This TN was an absolute blast to go and plan out, with the neon colors of Akira and the rusty grunge of Mad max, it was so much fun.
As far as the match goes, I really do enjoy it, again p’weird but I feel you can do something cool with both in vehicle combat and outside of it, also it would be a good excuse to watch the movies again, would like for it to happen.
20-Denji (Chainsaw Man) vs Andy (Undead Unluck)
This was proposed to me by TheMohZone. He’s such a kind soul, I remember being younger in the screwattack forums and always looking into the different threads just waiting to see whenever the next DB podcast would drop. I still had many issues I carry with me to this day but those days always proved to be a bit better, life always has a way tho and well I got to meet the guy online and he is just a great dude, I have much respect for him. He asked me to do this one in particular, Undead Unluck is a series I also need to give a watch, apparently it is p'good.
For this tn tho I wanted something laid back, I remember making the Andy render and saying “I really like the background” and that kinda sparked the idea of making the backgrounds like their respective manga covers which I feel it was super fun to trying to reverse engineer the style and colors it was a fun time. Not really much else to say.
21-Cell (Dragon Ball) vs Garou (One Punch Man)
This one is also from TheBlackShulk and this was also an idea that I had on a list and just moved ahead, Cell is one of those weird Dragon Ball characters where he is very stronk but since Super kinda power crept everyone to high-hell and he didn’t re-appear then he’s just kinda stuck in this weird area. He has had many matches over the years, some very cool ideas I admit, Super Skrull and Metal Sonic being one that comes to mind. Garou I suppose also falls into that same weird park where he has lots of matches but due to things from the manga I don’t fully get (I stopped at Boros sorry I'm lazy) he IS the power creep. Either way the idea of two fightsexuals throwing hands is fun, so yea I think it's p’kewl.
22-Seto Kaiba (YuGiOh) vs Kuroto Dan (Kamen Rider)
(I can only think of this scene when I think of this matchup sorry)
I had seen this one a lot, and the one to ask if I could do it was Dek, god bless his soul. This one was very fun to set up, lots of Kaiba images I had to do and test before I settled on the one you see here, I just wanted it to mesh well. I like the subtle touch of the Blue Eyes art on the back too, and the SuperNintendo-esk logo for Kuroto, it was all around a very fun one to set up and honestly as a match it just kinda clicks nicely. I kinda wanna see it cus it sounds so silly and yet so cool, I would be down.
23-Bowser (Super Mario) vs Satan (Puyo Puyo)
Radioactive “Homie” Caffeine was always a fan of this one, he has asked a few times before for me to do it and this was the prime time to do it I believe, the TN itself I feel I could have done better perhaps even if it came out fine. The matchup itself sounds fun tho, from what I can gather it is pretty thematic and both have just enough bs to make it fun. It would certainly be fun to see what a Puyo Puyo character can do. Aside from that, I'm afraid I can’t bring much to this.
24-Pee-Wee Herman vs Mr.Bean
This one’s for my goat Mapache, if u read this; hermano mio tqm te mando besitos. What can I say, this one’s just funny. I grew up watching quite a bit of Mr. Bean (the movie specifically) so the fella holds a special place in my heart. Also did I mention it was funny? Cus it would be yeh. Blessed, this one was p’fun to do.
25-Luigi (Super Mario) vs Shaggy (Scooby Doo)
This one is also from my good friend MegaMario and by god amma be 100% honest, at the risk of sounding a tad mean, this is just outright better than Pac-Man in (what I think) are the aspects that matter. It just feels more interesting with better potential overall and it tackles similar ideas to Pac-Man already while adding stuff onto it I feel. I feel you could do some wicked things in terms of animation and potential with it, like Courage Scooby perhaps seeing that clash between video game and cartoon logic would be awesome. In general I think this one is just a huge mood and would love to see it, I don’t even care who wins lol.
26- Magneto (Marvel) vs Accelerator (A Certain Magical Index)
This one is for my goat Phantom Rina, if you’re reading this I just wanna say hi and stay strong, u can do it, U the goat. Anyway this idea was def one that is very much her own, and I don’t hate it. from what I’ve been told it is pretty cool and honestly that's all I need. I can barely remember my university calculus classes but I do recall vectors from physics so I suppose I'm not entirely lost. I wish I could say more sadly, but from the little I know it sounds fun and cool and honestly? Sometimes you just need something cool and fun. This tn was a lot of fun to do as well, lots of lightning effects (idk why I just felt very lightning-esk that day I suppose).
27-Blade (Honkai: Star Rail) vs Reaper (Overwatch)
This one is for my absolute goat Maxxine she is gr8, if you reading this hiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.
With that out of the way I admit to know nothing about Honkai, as previously said, but I do like me some Overwatch and Reaper is pretty darn fun (rework him already Blizzard you hacks) but yea any matchup with him I admit to be an immediate pull for me cus again, its Reaper he is so commedically edgy it circles back to being cool its weird but also peak. So yea, I assume the fight would mesh well and it goes well, I’ve seen a fair amount of people like it and to them I say, happy for u.
28-Bob-Omb (Super Mario) vs Creeper (Minecraft)
I'm just going to be brutally honest; when I was asking friends and the sort about their matches I missed a day by accident (silly me) and when I got to this day in particular I had nothing for today so I just improvised whatever came into my brain with whatever leftover renders I had in my folder affectionately called “shit I might use later” and these 2 where there, my brain said “hehe… boom” and this came to be.
Its peak, I won’t hear otherwise, that is all.
29-Hao (Shaman King) vs Sephiroth (FF7)
This one came from my good buddy Cyber. We may not speak a lot but the man is always a joy to talk to whenever I have the chance and just a kind and good man. If you’re reading this I hope u are doing good, sending all my energy towards you.
Also I told you this month had 2 Sephiroths, this one tho is against Shaman King so it's peak I’m afraid. As it is it sounds fun, anything with Hao and Sephy is bound to be fun no matter how you put it, I can see the vision too, so yea idk, it just sounds very fun, supernova go BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR.
30-Jenny (Bucky O’Hare) vs Mira Nova (Buzz Lightyear of Star Command)
Have I ever mentioned that I have very weird and niche tastes in what I see and like? Yea, ik this probably comes out as a “what the fuck is this” moment but I admit that this idea came to me a while back, I was doing research for Bucky O’ Hare at the time and the idea came to mind and said “yea, it vives” and ultimately decided I wanted to end the month in a matchup of my own and we’re here. The idea of like the right hand of the leader of a crew in space sounds neat, and both have unique powers and abilities that would lend themselves to something interesting. It's never fucking happening, I might do it as a blog someday, till then I’m happy to make a TN for it and share it.

Well, this was definitely a bit of a hard blow when it came to making this tbh. To those unaware: As of writing this blog and its publishment, Rooster Teeth kinda… went kaput to put it lightly, after many years it closed its doors kind of out of nowhere, not just to their viewers but apparently to even the company itself which, all around, not particularly a fun time for anyone involved. This means lots of the IP’s also well, just ended else they found a new home, like RWBY and the topic of this whole thing, Death Battle. Now, I wouldn’t like to doompost here, nor really make paragraphs about “will it come back” because it's just not the point of it. It was sad to learn and accept that the show might end, but it hurt more to see so many people lose their jobs from one day to the other. More than the shows themselves I feel it is better to support the people that have put their soul into them.
Now, as of writing this I do know RWBY has been picked up by Viz media (epic) and DB is still in a hiatus, I didn’t let that diminish my hopes even if internally the struggle did linger. Officially at the time DB announced that they would continue until May 10th, so I decided to make those days count, the “week” became a 10-day themed streak of “Matches DB needs to do before it ends” perhaps as a personal way to cope with the situation.
Regardless, the only predictable thing about life is that it's unpredictable, who knows what the future might have, what I do know is that I had to continue. And so I did.
1-Captain America (Marvel) vs Kamen Rider Ichigo (Kamen Rider)
This matchup is one that has held the test of time I feel. It's just one of “those” matches, the ones that just exist to remain in the collective consciousness of the community and be built upon. And the theme is as simple as “the original '' the first Super Soldier the first Rider, can’t get simpler than that and yet I can’t help but feel its just, nice. I think it would be a very cool episode, with lots of cool Hand 2 Hand and campy but joyful dialogue. I wanted to channel some of that legacy of the characters on the TN too. Mimicking a comic cover and a TV splash screen in their background. With the titles on the back and the sort, I feel like it brings a layer, as if the characters were just jumping right out of the screen.
In short, I enjoy this idea, it is surprisingly cool, you can do some fun stuff, it would be fun to see before the show comes to an end.
2.Gordon Freeman (Half-Life) vs Isaac Clarke (Dead Space)
God Half-Life and Dead Space are so cool. Goated series. This one alongside one we will see ahead is one of those matches that despite not being super huge it still holds a big place in the overall collective consciousness of the hobby I feel. The idea of the “right man in the wrong circumstance” is very fun and both have enough material and stuff to make something seriously wicked in terms of animation and fight. Mix some of those horror elements and I think it blends nicely.
I particularly really like Half-Life, I admit to having arrived late for the party but I really do enjoy the games, sad we will never get 3 but hey win some lose some. The games as they are are very fun and super cool with an interesting story, so I would just be happy to see the games in the show so yea, idk, I think this one is neat. Making the TN was also very fun, really wanted the blue and orange to clash and I think I did fairly nicely.
3-The Punisher (Marvel) vs Judge Dredd (2000 AD)
Punisher gets thrown around a lot I’ve come to notice in this hobby. Frank Castle’s story and nature as the gritty anti-hero by excellence I suppose makes people gravitate towards that sorta personality and story. It is only natural that a lot of us have felt the need for vengeance even if it's not a healthy feeling to have or act upon. But I aint no psychiatrist and this ain't a thesis so, I mentioned the previous thing just to shine some light on the fact that he gets lots of matches, from the weird to the cool to the obscure to the recent. Nowadays the match that is very popular is Butcher, from The Boys, and honestly? Yea it's very good. I like it quite a lot. But for this one I wanted a match that had been brought upon many times before Butcher, and that was Dredd.
Dredd is such a strange choice because he is in that strange limbo where I think people know him but also do not know him, I guess by nature he is like the “gatekeeper” of niche comic book stuff, aside from a few movies (I liked the remake sue me) Dredd is not as iconic as other characters of the same medium and yet remains strong, much like Frank, Dredd also has other matches that possibly work better, Robocop comes to mind. In the end however, I remember this match from early in the days of the hobby, it was thrown around and discussed a lot, even by DB themselves, it would only make sense for them to dig their teeth into it, making this tn was also extremely fun, could get very aggressive with the effects and it wouldn’t look to out of place.
4-Jago (Killer Instinct) vs Liu Kang (Mortal Kombat)
Before this, I realized that I had not done a single Mortal Kombat related matchup till now, lmao, I suppose DB did use most of the cool ones huh? Regardless I suppose starting with Liu Kang wasn’t a bad option, I like the guy he is p’cool, I like killer instinct tho despite admitting to not having played it often aside from friends and arcades. This fight I feel is one that despite not being super duper omega huge (similar to Gordon vs Isaac in that regard) is has been one that, at least I feel, the DB crew and team have been aching to do for the longest time, stopped perhaps due to budget or time or just gauging interest.
Whatever the case it is also fairly requested, it is one of those fighting game matches that pops up every time its brough whenever the topic arises and for good reason, both are cool and honestly sometimes you just need a good old fashioned martial arts fight. You can do something neat and would be more than happy to see this one.
5-Yugi Moto (YuGiOh) vs Ash Ketchum (Pokémon)
On one hand, it is weird to think this one hasn’t happened before, at the same time it also makes sense because I can only imagine the poor computers/laptops exploding into a million pieces upon having to load so many assets at the same time alongside all the pertinent effects. Regardless this is just one of those fun matches that is very popular, Ash is a character that gets thrown around a fair bit, Yugi is the super classic school yard discussion. Pokemon vs YuGiOh sounds hype, I don’t really have much else to say, it sounds p fun. I loved doing the background of this one, adding all of Yugi’s cards and Ash’s pokemon in the back made me super happy, it also provided a neat challenge.

7-Simone (Gurren Lagann) vs Kyle Rayner (DC)
The I suppose “underlying” context of this match has always been fascinating to me, it was kinda created at a time where comic characters (and DC for that matter) were getting incredibly stronger by each DB episode, to the point where if anyone got put up against a comic character it was just assumed (and still to a degree nowadays) that they lose cus comics are just so much stronger. And at the time lots of matches came and went with the idea of “ok who can beat a comic character in a semi-decently fair match” and this one kinda spring up from that well of ideas, and since its inception it did get a gigantic push, like absolute insanity of a push.
I'm talking tn’s people were doing sprite art and music commissions and even the G1 did a blog. It was something insane for this type of matchup, the idea got so big that it even had a chance of being one of the first community-voted episodes. In short, this matchup gained its reputation and a big fanbase in an already pretty niche circle. It only makes sense to honor it here, it was a great deal of time doing this particular TN, especially with Kyle’s side, wanted to use the entire color spectrum. In short, I'm happy with it, and I’m happy for its fans.
8-Gogeta (Dragon Ball) vs Omnimon (Digimon)
This is just THE fusion matchup, I feel the one lots of kids grew up on thinking about when they saw both DB and Digimon, it is possibly the best and one of the few of its kind and I'm 100% on it, granted it is a bit… one-sided (Omnimon wins and it's not even funny) but the fact this match exists at all and would go hard as hell is enough for me to say “yea do it” has lots of cool factor and energy to it, enough for me to want to see it. That's honestly all I can say, it's just very cool, I really like it.
9-Mickey Mouse (Disney) vs Bugs Bunny (Warner Bros.)
Is there even anything I could say about this one at this point? It's like, the American mascots throwing hands sounds fun to me, would be funny, would be cool, would be interesting, DB would surely do a good job at it. Again, I just cannot really say if I can bring anything new to the conversation, it's just… is, it one of those matches that almost feels like it was made for the show. And cus of it, it deserved to have a TN. I had lots of fun. I liked how I broke a bit of the 4th wall with it but without feeling super exaggerated, just enough to say “hey he’s outside the normal boundary” I like that sorta stuff.
10-Wiz vs Boomstick
At some point I knew I would be forced to do this one, it's bittersweet because it represents the end of the show, but also like some sort of “catharsis” or “liberation” , the end of good times that despite having ended, still brings you happiness. Ofc if DB lives now that's awesome but it doesn’t mean it will go on forever, I doubt Ben and the gang want to be stuck doing this forever, all things come to an end. And with time I’ve just accepted that such a thing is natural and it's ok. The ride and the experiences alongside it are what's important, not the destination. This was done after the final DB cast (under Rooster Teeth) and again, it meant it was charged emotionally to a degree, still, I had to move on. This TN was like a strange way for me to internalize such things and just say “thank you” to the show, a show that I admit, means quite a bit to me.
So yea, thank you DB team.
11-Jem (Jem & The Holograms) vs Priss (Bubblegum Crisis)
I remember this was a matchup my good friend Cal asked me to do a looooooooooong while back, I had pushed it back many times because I just couldn’t find good images to make renders out of, but my searching paid off and I managed to fulfill that promise. As far as the matchup itself goes I know nothing about either, this is my first exposure to these two lol, it sounds fun from what my friend Cal told me, just a good ol’ fashioned music fight, that is good enough for me tbh. Not much else to say.
12-Star Fox (Star Fox) vs Rogue Squadron (Star Wars)
Your eyes do not deceive you, I indeed made 3 different TN’s for the same matchup. It should go to speak volumes of how much I like this match in particular lmao. I just had a very difficult time trying to create something that really grasped the entirety of each side cus it's not really one individual but a whole group, so I couldn’t really decide on any individual symbology. In the end I just decided to say “fuck it” and make all 3 ideas. I do not regret it.
This match too is just, so good to me, it speaks to a little old me, playing Star Fox on my Wii and watching Phantom Menace in the movie theaters. I know Fox himself has been in an episode before but I would love to see an episode where the Arwing takes center stage, it is the whole thing the games are built upon sans Adventures so it would be cool to see them go all out on it. Same goes for ships in SW, I feel they are unexplored territory when it comes to the verse and seeing the comparison in weaponry, training and tactics would make for a super interesting battle in the grand scheme of things. In short, I would love to see this one in the future, it might just be one of my personal favorites of all time honestly.
13-Sam & Max (Sam & Max) vs Dudley & Kitty (T.U.F.F. Puppy)
Y’know, looking back into it this month had 2 “themed” weeks, one of them was the 10 episodes before May and then this week, it was like a soft “team fights” week, probably intentional, I don’t remember by now, either way. This match is one I’ve seen a lot floating around in VS circles, I suppose it has that “buddy cop/spy couple” energy to it, like a funny action/comedy flick. And yea I respect that honestly, I admit to know more about Sam & Max and honestly I would really enjoy seeing them in the show at some point, they are a very fun pair and hearing about their wacky adventures would be a treat.
Also this TN was just a blast to do, I am particularly proud of how the Sam & Max side came out, really managed to capture that newspaper comic vive I think.
14-Content Creators (Content Warning) vs Workers (Lethal Company)
This one came to mind after seeing some friends' stream of content warning, my brain connected the dots, sounded like peak fiction so I just did this, pretty peak I admit, would be funny. Nothing much to say, it just sounds funny and cool.
15- Bill & Lance (Contra) vs Marco & Tarma (Metal Slug)
I don’t want to dive deeply into this one because if I did this would just become a VS blog. I love this match a lot, it tickles my arcade old-school brain in all the right ways and it would be super cool to see it fully realized as an episode. The funny but intense action of metal slug alongside the super over-the-top mood of Contra meshes up perfectly. It's such a good match where I don’t even care who wins, I would just love to see it happen. So much material to go and pull from and it would just be great to see an analysis on the batshit insanity of both series.
16-Junkrat & Roadhog (Overwatch) vs Bebop & Rocksteady (TMNT)
I heard this one being mentioned I believe on the official discord and ever since then it has stuck with me, I like OW (eww I know) and Junkrat & Roadhog are a fun duo, and I feel bebop and rocksteady match that same energy that they have, its simple its effective, I feel you can do something very fun with it and would be down to see it as a fully realized thing honestly. In a way that was also my experience making this tn, simple fun, but effective and fulfilling, the idea of these 2 trying to outdo each other but their plans blowing up (literally) on their face sounds p’funny. Also both have had their fair share of serious moments alongside funny ones, so you can bounce between them nicely.
17-Kira (Jojo) vs Adachi (Persona 4)
This one is extremely popular, so much so that I almost felt very pressured when I made this TN, it is a very well liked match so I felt like I had to do it right or else I was about to get put in a hashtag or something idk.
The match itself is fun, the dynamic sounds hype and overall has lots of potential waiting to be tapped so in general I feel I cannot really say much that has been said before, it is a very cool match and hopefully DB can do it in the future if things come to be. For the TN I wanted to have them in their particular colors, I like the subtle addition of their stand and persona in the back even if perhaps a bit too subtle. But overall I feel like I did a decent job. It was fun.
18-Finn & Jake (Adventure Time) vs Rigby & Mordecai (Regular Show)
What can I say? This is one of the communities most wanted, they’ve been pushing for it probably since the show started, it is fun, has lots going for it, I'm hyped for it.

19-Zygarde (Pokémon) vs Mothra (Godzilla)
Mothra vs Pokemon is a very common thing I’ve come to notice with time, I suppose the idea of a big fuckoff protector moth really kinda fits in the general concept of the pokemon spectrum. It makes sense and I can see why it happens so often, Pokemon is already pretty Toho Inspired in many areas (Hi Tyranitar, Hydreigon and Duraludon) when it comes to Mothra I really like the character, I feel she is one of the quintessential Kaiju and her slow but steady rise to become “Queen of the Monsters” in the collective conscious has made me happy, love her interpretation of the Monsterverse, Mothra is just gr8.
So it's no surprise I really wanted to do a Mothra TN but against who? I pondered some ideas, kinda went and by on a few matches but settled on Zygarde funny enough, I felt the idea of that difference between “nature’s/lifes protectors” to be interesting, Zygarde is more about the ecosystem and Mothra humanity and also like the balance of nature so I felt it fit nicely, and again the two go about it differently so it seemed rather fun, Zygarde has his many forms that could be interesting and in general it seemed interesting! Granted it's not perfect, I do think Xerneas fits a bit better for Mothra, Lugia is fun too but I admit to not being my fav (tho I love Lugia), and Zygarde does lack material atm (something that will hopefully change by the time Pokemon Z-A comes out) all in all I feel you can do something very fun with this one, so I was happy making this TN, perhaps I a blog in the future.
20-The Penitent One (Blasphemous) vs The Tarnished (Elden Ring)
Listen I like Blasphemous ok, I wanted a matchup for the Penitent one, this one seemed cool, like the wanderers from broken worlds abandoned by their deities, also that general souls-vive is a good time. Is it perfect? Nah, is it amazing? Nah, is the potential there? Absolutely, I would love more indie games and I feel this is a good matchup, also this TN came out gr8 I fucking cooked bro.
21-Slenderman (Creepypasta) vs Sadako (Ringu)

I remember I started this TN because Bang, (hi Bang if u reading this again) said he was doing and planning this Blog. I kinda fell in love with the idea honestly, I like creepypastas, I find a lot of them much more interesting than most I feel, Slenderman is like THE creepypasta monster and as such I was interested in thinking about what the guy could just do? How would you realistically handle a character that has been used in so many stories?
Sadako ofc is from Ringu, japanese book/movie classic, good shit all around I recommend it, tho most will be more accustomed to her more americanized persona from The Ring series of movies, also p’fun. In general I like the idea of the monster you can’t really escape from. I feel horror matchup ideas tend to be strange hits or misses but this one is an absolute banger.
For this TN I wanted it to make it special, really tap into that weird horror and wanted the characters to really pop-out from the TN in a way that was fun but not intrusive and readable. I found a Sadako image I could render out and it was perfect honestly, I had, so much fun doing this TN, it was a great challenge, it would also mark the beginning of me sometimes getting experimental with TN’s I wasn’t afraid to do weirder things and I thank this matchup for that.
22-Ra’s al Ghul (DC) vs Shredder (TMNT)
I remember that before Shredder vs Silver Samurai this was like, the big matchup for Shredder, and I honesty see why; The Foot Clan is already a parody of the Hand and the League of Assassins so it would make sense to throw them to the biggest bad assassin of them all, Ra’s fits the bill perfectly and from what I’ve been told it is surprisingly even too.
Shredder is a weird beast because there are many varieties and versions of the character, from what my good friend Spider-Pidge has told me the best version usable for Ra’s is probably the IDW comics version which I trust her word in, in general tho I would just love to see this matchap fully fledged, sounds absolutely awesome and would love to see it, the TN was also fun to do, lots of green on Ra’s side cus y’know funny lazarus pit goes wehe.
23-Megatron (Transformers: BW) vs Megabyte (ReBoot)
I like this match, it is a very funny idea and also just a cool concept, the cheesy yet very threatening villains, it was a simple idea, did a simple tn for it, came out clean I feel and I was very happy with it, ReBoot is just also a very cool show in general.
All I ask is that if this happens it’s done in the same janky 3D of the time, plz, it would be so fucking funny.
24-Reina (Tekken) vs Juri (Street Fighter)
Funny crazy ladies throw hands, only one comes out alive, Feng Shui Engine vs Devil Gene, sounds all good to me (sorry Milenna you just aint that fun) so yea give this to me Tekken and SF rock so idk fams this is kinda peak.

25-Garland (Final Fantasy 1) vs Oersted (Live a Live)
I have played FF1 many moons ago when I was getting into emulators, I remember little of it aside from the music which was hype as hell and bits and pieces of the story which is like the 4 elemental crystals and the sort. At the time I cared little about the story and the names of the characters and the sort, with time I just learned the main bad guy’s name was Garland and thought it was “cool”. I have a friend online his name is munch (hi munch) and he fucking adores JRPG’s like the guy has borderline encyclopedic knowledge of them its insanity, and I believe he was from where I learned about Live a Live and this matchup.
He told me to play LaL, I haven’t yet, might in the future, I am bad at playing video games, from what I can gather tho the matchup itself is fun and makes sense, would be interesting to deep dive into it once I get to playing Oersted’s home title. Till then, this matchup for me remains in my brain as a “sounds cool”
26-Travis Touchdown (No Home Heroes) vs Denji (Chainsaw man)

I can’t say that I can say much here, it sounds fun, I can see the idea at a glance, like the loser-type fella given powers in some sort of organization (also terrible in love affairs) it sounds fun and interesting, both series have plenty to work with and chainsaw man is at an all-time high so, would be interesting to see it, as my second Denji TN I wanted to also capture the idea of the sides being like the covers of the game and manga respectively, lots of colors and saturation, it gives it such an interesting and unique feel, I really like the final result.
27-The Celestial Toymaker (Dr. Who) vs Q (Star Trek)
I know nothing about these 2 series or the characters, however I had seen tn’s and blogs on this matchup in particular particularly often, or at least often enough where I said “would be fun to make into a TN, I have a passerby knowledge of Star Trek and I do kinda know Q from social symbiosis (I honestly just know him as that space mariachi) but from what I know and what I’ve read this matchup is fun, like cosmic pranksters/”wanna play a game” type of deal, to a degree as far as I know ofc (could be wrong tho). I can’t say that I know a lot, I can say however that making this TN was a surprising amount of fun! Really think I did nicely with the effects and colors here, gives it a nice glow, either way, sounds fun, can’t say I know much but, I'm down to see it happen.
28-Ohma Zi-O (Kamen Rider) vs Lord Drakkon (Power Rangers)
I absolutely know nothing about these 2; I just know people pushed for this matchup a whole lot, and I do mean a whole lot, it is still very popular to this day and the themes are easy to pick up upon, so it honestly sounds like fun. Power Rangers is always a fun time. So yea, I admit to not be able to say much about this lmao, it just sounds fun, it was very fun to make the TN for it too.
29-Buggy (One Piece) vs Hisoka (HxH)
I like Buggy D. Clown what can I say, he’s my goat. The guy is basically like a joke made right and I also like One Piece! So I wanted to do a TN for buggy, out of all of them Hisoka seemed to come often and honestly it sounds like his most fun one even of the thematics aren’t all there. It just sounds fun and I'm down for something fun.
Buggy’s unique powers alongside Hisoka’s would make for something very interesting. This tn was also very simple but had a lot of fun doing it, like Hisoka’s side specially, with the whole card aesthetic yeh I cooked.
30-Cassandra Cain (DC) vs Laura Kinney (X-23)

I haven’t read much about these characters, I admit to knowing the bare bones from Bang’s blog, and that blog is honestly the reason why it exists. It sounded fun and I wanted to try making a tn for it.
For what it is it seemed very fun and interesting, always a fan of seeing the bat-family throw hands. They tend to be very unique, so yeah I'm quite on board with this idea, sounds fun, wanted to make a grungier TN too and I think I succeeded.
31-Shigaraki (Boku no Hero) vs Mahito (JJK)
(By the time this is published, this has become an actual thing, if you know u know)
We will cross the bridge I mentioned in that little line below the TN when we get there, for now I'll just focus on the TN at hand lol. For this matchup specifically I admit to not knowing a lot, but I know it absolutely EXPLODED in requests from one day to the other. JJK and MHA being at their ending stages got people to kinda wonder about matches and this one seemed to stick, the idea of these embodiments of humanity’s hatred and like corrupt desires that kill you with a touch. Oddly specific for sure but rather thematic, it sounds like it has a lot of potential and it could be very fun, regardless of the verdict I feel that's enough to have it, give me some cool villain fights, they’re always a fun time.

This month was hard but not in like the usual way I suppose, in fact I had a lot of fun making the TN’s of this month and is one where I can safely say I did some of my best, but I do admit that the toll of the news regarding the state of the show and and just general life stuff made me just, more tired to do stuff than usual. However, I moved on, not much really else to say tbh, it was a quiet time I did TN’s life moved on and I dedicated my efforts on improving myself mentally… also I forgot to make a themed TN this month (sorry) but I think it evens out with how much fun I had making it, nothing much else to say so let's move on to the TN’s!
1-Ridley (Metroid) vs Vile (Megaman X)
Ridley feels like a natural for a show called Death Battle, it only makes sense a big space dragon that seemingly kills without any sort of care is on the show at some point or another. By himself Ridley is a character that has had many choices picked up by the community but of all of them I really came to like Vile, it just has that “big hater” energy to it that sounds fun, and the blend of Metroid with Megaman X feels oddly nice, its like X vs Samus but filled with spite. I think it would be cool in general and you can do some interesting stuff. It was also fun to sneak in the boss fights of these 2 in the background. It was very cool. I'm very happy with this, it's a p’cool idea. (Vilgax is also peak tbh)
2-The Silverhawk (Darius) vs The Gyaraga (Galaga)

I like schmups, I like Galaga and I like Darius, a friend of mine pointed out the comparison between the two and I couldn’t help to make a TN for this. Something simple, something nice, with that nice retro vibe and funny potential, next to say, the Vic Viper from Gradius vs the R-Type’s R9 this one sounds just as fun. Simple, nice, I like it, a personal favorite of mine.
3-Banana Guard (Multiversus) vs Piranha Plant (Super Smash Bros.)
Multiversus was all the rage I remember when I made this TN, it was just a few weeks or days from releasing and Banana Guard had gotten revealed for the game and well people connected 2 and 2 and this matchup was something people kinda pushed for a little bit, I honestly think focusing on the Smash and Multiversus versions of the characters would be extra funny. And tbh I did the TN because I wanted to flex my creative muscle a bit and do something different. I had a lot of fun doing it too. I feel like I may have gone a bit too hard on it. Despite what one might think all of the background (sans a few images) are custom in photoshop, I wanted to make it as accurate to the games as I could and it was very fun, all in all it's just a funny matchup idea lol.
4-Nero (Devil May Cry) vs Hellboy (Hellboy)

I remember when this matchup became very big in the community, it was relatively recently too! DMC5 stonks where high and people were thinking of potential Nero matches, some came and went but the one that seemed to stick a decent amount was Hellboy, not that I mind cus the comic is very goated, fun times I admit. This match in particular slowly got people behind it, blogs were made and people were curious as to find out just how strong Hellboy was, because nobody really had a very clear idea about it so it was interesting to see that. In general I like the idea, the paranormal-fighting gun peps with the funky arms whose dads are a-holes. Oddly specific but fitting. All in all it sounds hype as hell and I would like to see it one day. I feel it has a great deal of potential, especially cus both have all of these wacky weapons and magical shenanigans going on.
5-Marx (Kirby) vs Dimentio (Super Paper Mario)
Marx and Dimentio get thrown around a lot, either be against each other or like, another jester type thing like Kefka or just another “cute but actually very evil” type of villain like Flowey from the Undertale. All of them are fine, this one just seems to tickle my fancy better, it has a nice aura that its hard to beat, I think it's where both of those aspects I mentioned before blend nicely, add onto that the “I tricked someone into giving me god-like-power” and you honestly got some serious peak. Both have some cool abilities and powers you can use and would be fun to see expanded in a general scenario like this. In general I just think it's p’neat, simple but neat, also the background elements for Dimentio? I drew those lmao, Idk why I did, it would have been easier to just find images of them but I wanted to draw them dammit so I did, I had a lot of fun making this TN.
6-Senna (League of Legends) vs Seras (Hellsing)
My good bud Dek told me about this one, and yea I really liked it, its surprisingly easy to get the idea if you know of either character, the “normal person turned monster” and all that sort, the drama and stuff that comes with it, Senna is one of those LoL characters that aren’t super huge but are honestly cool and have a cool story. Seras I know barebones since I don’t Hellsing much but from what I’ve been told fits nicely and would be interesting to see as a fight. All in all, again quite simple but effective, same for the TN, had a lot of fun playing with photoshop effects to give that misty effect with the little threads of color. I like the final result.
7-NiGHTS (NiGHTS) vs Sybil (Pseudoregalia)
I’ve come to make an announcement: Pseudoregalia is a very fun game lol, that's about it, it is a fun game, I wanted to make an edit for Sybil and so I did! NiGHTS seemed like a fun idea, being about dreams and fighting things within them and for some reason the movement of both games came to mind, both are very fun to just move around. It's simple but I found out that I liked it for some reason. The TN as well was a lot of fun to do. I want something simple but glowy and like all mystical stuff and I think I succeeded, sometimes something simple is best.
It’s perhaps not the best idea, but I still like it, also again, go play Pseudoregalia it is very good lol.
8-Ky (Guilty Gear) vs Saber (Fate)
Saber is, very, VERY popular in these sorts of circles, I suppose Fate is just one of those popular animes and Saber is the most recognizable face on it so people gravitate towards it I suppose, I’ve seen a fair amount of saber matches, from Luke Skywalker to Pokemon to other anime characters whose names I can’t even hope to remember atm but amongst all the sea of potential ideas one did always stand out to me, and its this one. I suppose the idea of the just knight/king is an interesting one, I remember seeing this matchup first from a blog of a good friend of mine I’ve mentioned a few times in this blog already, TheBlackShulk. He made a blog pertaining to this matchup and it was a fun read, it made me think that Ky seems to fit that bill nicely, also I am just horribly biased towards Guilty Gear so I supposed that has to do with it.
In general I dunno, I think the idea is surprisingly neat and cool, even if unlikely to happen in an actual Death Battle episode, perhaps with that Guilty Gear anime that was announced we get a better chance, one can only hope.
9-Taro Sakamoto (Sakamoto Days) vs Yor Forger (SpyXFamily)
I have not seen/read neither of these, I admit to doing this TN cus it sounded cool and infinitely more interesting than just sending The Bride of Kill Bill to get atomized by Yor, so yes I did this matchup cus of those reasons. I gotta really give them a watch tho, even if Anime and Comedy (for me at least) rarely blend well if at all, but friends seem to like it and I trust their judgment so who knows, I would rather be pleasantly surprised.
In terms of the matchup I’ve heard it's good, very well liked, perhaps if the Sakamoto Anime does well it might have better chances at happening. The TN itself I feel I could have done better, I took the manga covers as inspiration and ran with it, it came out perhaps too simple, maybe I’ll redo it in the future, def one of my lesser liked, something about it just doesn’t click with me.
10-Constantine (DC) vs Raidou (Shin Megami Tensei)
God this matchup, amma be real I'm not even sure where it started to get very popular, sometimes it feels like it just spawned itself from the ether and just became ingrained in the collective community’s consciousness. I know nothing about Constantine or SMT, (all I know about the former is from Sandman, peak comic btw) but from what I’ve been told the general gist of the matchup is the supernatural, detective investigator fellas. Sounds hype tbh, it is a very cool archetype to begin with.
I cannot really say much as I do not know enough, but I can say that this match slowly but surely won itself a spot in the community (Medd’s script of this fight is absolutely bonkers), and frankly I would really enjoy seeing it as an actual episode, it sounds badass and that's good enough for me, also making this TN was rather cool, it let me use a bunch of sigils and alchemical circles and the sort which are always cool to use, love that aesthetic.

12-Bahamut (Final Fantasy) vs Bahamut (DnD)
I came to know of this idea cus of my friend KingConch, he mentioned it when peps were thinking about Final Fantasy Bahamut and matches and he brought up DnD Bahamut, and aside from the “haha same name” but nah it made a bit more sense than that, the idea of the deity dragon figure despite being simple seemed nice, and both are well known and recurring character in their series where you can make something very interesting I feel. It's simple, yes, but compared to other matches for FF Bahamut I feel this one vibes the best. It's a bit more than just “haha dragon” but it's not like a wall-of-runes of connections, it just has a few more things to make it stand out from the crowd. Also it was very fun to make this TN, and managed to sneak some other versions of both characters in the BG fun times, in general yea, I really enjoy this matchup.
13-Beelzebub (Record of Ragnarok) vs Zeref (Fairy Tail)
Lots of purple and black and angst in this TN, I admit that I like RoR, reading the Manga is a fun time and from recent memory I just really wanted a matchup for Beelzebub cus he is probably one of the coolest characters that has come into the series, just has a very cool/dramatic backstory and powerset and would love to see it in a show like DB. And I was wondering about who he could fight, looked around the community for ideas and this guy seemed to come in often enough where I said “sure, sounds neat” so I got to work on this TN as soon as possible.
In the end reading a bit more on the it sounded pretty fun and unique, definitely on the weirder side of matches but I feel you can do something interesting, even if RoR are admittedly hard to work with because they only really got 1 fight to work with lol, but idk would be a lot of fun in general.
14-SpaceGodzilla (Godzilla) vs Ultraman Belial (Ultraman)
I like Goji related stuff. What can I say, I wanna see more matches from Kaiju. They are badass, and among them I do like Space-Goji a whole lot. Guy’s just cool, what can I say! So similar to Beelzebub I wandered around for potential matchups for the big guy, in the end it came down to two options: Necrozma or this one, Belial. Both seemed good honestly, I really liked both, but since I had already done Mothra vs Zygarde a month before I didn’t want to repeat myself and thus Belial seemed the option to go with, wanted to bring something unique and honestly I think it paid off, I really like how this TN came about, has like a weird but cool vive, with like the evil mist and the sort, def happy with the final result. As far as the matchup goes from the little I know it sounds cool, and honestly I'm just happy with that, with the fact that it's cool, so yeh, give it to me.
15-Noel (BlazBlue) vs Aigis (Persona 3)
I am honestly more surprised I hadn’t done a TN for this matchup before, you may not see it requested as much today, mostly because both of the character here have gotten other matchups proposed with time but this one was (and frankly still is) relatively popular, it was discussed within the community and well liked, so when I started this whole TN thing it was a no brainer to do it sooner or later, I can’t say much about the matchup, Ik people like the characters but Idk much about stats or potential. The TN was a lot of fun to do, lots of pretty cyber effects and the sort, it was fun to do, happy with the final result.
16-Rengoku (Demon Slayer) vs Todo (JJK)

I like this one, it sounds fun, can’t say I know a lot about either but I’ve been told it's fun and the blog made it sounds pretty fun so yea, I just think it would be fun. Doing the TN was also lots of fun as well, doing the lil cursed energy glow around Todo by hand was probably not my smartest move but goddamn I had a lot of fun doing it so amma mention it. All in all, not a whole lot to say but I like it. It's blessed.
17-Metal Sonic (Sonic The Hedgehog) vs Nemesis Prime (Transformers)
Rina (my goat) I remember asked me if I could render out these 2 characters for a TN she wanted to make, ofc I did cus she is my fren and I like making renders, and when she presented me with the match I grew to like it a fair but, its simple but its fun, the “robotic evil counterpart” is simple but effective, and it would vibe nicely I think, it's one of those interesting matches that I have never heard about before and sounds super interesting. It's simple but fun! And I’m good with that. Also it was a good reason to use these renders I made, all in all, epic.
18-Axel (Twisted Metal) vs Big Wheel (Marvel)
This tn exists because a good friend from Discord, Josh made a TN for this, I saw it for like 3 seconds and went “holy shit this is absolute peak fiction” and as such made preparations to add this to the daily TN. So yea that's the explanation as to why this is here. It's peak fiction! Not much else to say, have Torrian animate this idc, I want Axel vs Big Wheel its good!
19-Loki (Marvel) vs Kefka (Final Fantasy 6)
I don’t know how this matchup started, when it comes to Final Fantasy characters that are not from 7 Kefka tends to come out pretty often, he just has a very high status as one of FF’s coolest villains, I like FF6 and yea I like Kefka he is a very interesting villain. I think Loki became one of the more equested guys to fight the guy and I suppose I can see why, these god-like entities that are a little unhinged. I like the idea enough where I don’t mind it (tho I have heard matchup ideas for them both that are p’cool too). With time this match just kinda became the big one for the two of them and it sounds cool.
They have magic up the wazoo and Kefka’s other forms would be super interesting to see in an animation, I feel there is potential for the animation and the banter and in general sounds fun! I admit that the TN could have come a bit better, but I do like the art I used it meshes super nicely. All in All, I don’t mind it, it's cool, I would be down to see it.
20-Adam Smasher (Cyberpunk 2077) vs Frank Horrigan (Fallout)
All I can gather from this matchup is that these 2 are HIM, like they are just embodiments of “HE’S HIM.” These walking tanks, super badass government weapon type deals are simple but fun, and Cyberpunk and Fallout have this nice vibe that clashes well. The Thumbnail was an extremely fun time to do, especially Horrigan’s side. The fight sounds fun and I feel it would also be very cool to see more classic fallout stuff in terms of animation and analysis, sounds like it would be p’neat.
21-Scout (TF2) vs Casey Jones (TMNT)
I suppose its a tradition to have at least one TMNT matchup per month I’ve noticed. That's not bad, it's just funny lol.
Either way Casey Jones, he my goat, I love the idea of the character itself, it only makes sense the character has many ideas himself! It was a bit of a hard time deciding on what matchup I liked for him (Vigilante from DC barely lost to Scout). Finally I settled with Scout mostly because even tho realistically it's not THAT thematic, I like the idea of a downtown street kid becoming certified badass just by practicing and spite, using lots of tools as weapons. Not amazing I know but I feel the vibe is there, the potential sounds incredible and I feel you can do something extremely fun with all of their weapons and parkour. Its simple but I quite like it. Would be fun to do a blog on it perhaps… would need to settle on a specific version of Casey tho. Either way, I really like it. P’hype.
22-Pucci (Jojo) vs Isaac (Netflix’s Castlevania)
Weird one aint it, I suppose that by the time this blog gets published people will have moved on to another matchup for the two of them. Thats fine, but I admit that this matchup holds a special place, mostly cus I really like Isaac’s interpretation in the netflix show, in a series that have some hits and some misses Isaac is just a highlight, he is so fucking cool and I like his arc. I like the idea of the holy-figure seeking to change the world and the dynamic here mashes well. Between the one that says “fuck it gotta reset it all” to the “we have to do it little by little” mentality, add onto that their unique abilities brought on by Stands and Isaac being a forger and I feel you have a recipe for something unique and interesting. Is the debate fair? Prolly not, Pucci most likely speed+haxes (every jojo fight tbh) but i don’t really mind, I want something cool here, and cool is what I think this match definitely is, one of those weird personal favorites.
23-Jim Hammond (Marvel) vs Alan Scott (DC)
(Marvels is a super recommended comic book read, seriously it's amazing)
I remember that I started seeing this matchup recently in this particular month, I had read Marvels, insanely good comic book I adore every second of it, and that's when I got properly introduced to Jim Hammond, now, I did know of him, I like history and comic book history is surprisingly very sparse and not very well kept, so I own a couple of books and stuff detailing bits and pieces and one of them spoke of Hammond, the first human torch, so I knew the character and its history but not quite the character, and Marvels was the introduction to it, I really like it honestly, he’s like the modern prometheus, a Frankenstein’s Monster figure in a sense and I find that just, so fascinating.
All of this is just to say that I saw this matchup crop up often too, and I really liked it, the idea of these old school heroes, the old guard the “first with the name” in a sense, and I feel you can do something very interesting. For the TN I wanted to do something special, not just like make it look old but make it FEEL old, like straight out of those Kiosks where I used to buy comics as a kid. Characters front and center, that old yellow-ish paper and the bright colors as if the characters stretched out their bodies outside the paper. I think its one of the best TN’s I’ve made. I'm happy for it, perhaps a bit weird in terms of Marvel vs DC but I feel it could be interesting.
24-Blanka (Street Fighter) vs Rajang (Monster Hunter)
Now this one is just funny/cool/hype, it's just two beastly electric warriors throwing hands, can’t get simpler and more hype than that, I have fond memories of watching my friend Tinnie in VC getting absolutely atomized by super saiyan Rajang as his palico (affectionately named Emilio) played silly little tunes on their drum. Good times. Either way this is just a very roundabout way of saying that MonHun in an episode would go hard and that this fight fits the bill of both silly but also awesome. It's simple (much like the TN) but that speaks the beauty in simplicity I think.
25-Hatsune Miku (Vocaloid) vs Barbie (Mattel)

This community tends to do something very funny often which is that like, the second something comes out either be a show, a movie or a game there is like 17 matchups for that specific thing already, in a way it makes perfect sense, its clearer in current memory and its cool to think about matches of things you’re enjoyed or are popular, it's nothing bad its just something I’ve noticed. I say this because when the Barbie movie came out, she was all the rage in terms of matches, people were like, super on-board with having her on an episode. Not that I mind, I grew up watching those weird 3D animated Barbie movies (the Nutcracker my beloved) and so a few ideas cropped up here and there, most common was probably princess Peach from Mario.
So why Miku then? Well, admittedly this was another matchup that came up often for Barbie and I just overall feel it fits better, Barbie and Miku are those characters that are envisioned to like “be anything/do anything” a character that is more of an outlet to tell countless stories of almost every variety, from the funny to the strange to the thought-provoking. I feel that Peach is fine but aside from Pink and changing costumes once in a while she doesn’t really have that overall vive (I still don’t mind it tho it's p’cool) I feel Miku fulfills that idea a bit better, and also it would just be fun to research the character in general I feel I prefer it slightly more so, even if by a lil’bit.
26-Scrooge Mcduck (Disney) vs Mr.Krabs (Spongebob)

Money is great, in moderation of course tho I feel all of us would want a bit more than we have, but we mustn't let that get to us else we just hoard with no real purpose aside from filling voids that were never meant to be filled to begin with. Either way too psychological lets talk about Scrooge; He as a character in DB has a very… colorful? Expensive? Idk how to explain it the guy was front and center at the great cataclysm that heralded the destruction of the G1 forums so the guy, at the time, was essentially satan incarnate (im being hyperbolic here just to be clear).
I say this because with time I feel people have mellowed out, most of the old guard is all grown up and younger fresher people have come and gone through the community, it is nature, time moves on and for the people that came in now the same feeling will happen, they will have their stories to tell. Scrooge I think does deserves a runback, enough new material has come out and honestly I just like the character, he’s cool, man has had a few options across the show, but I feel Mr.Krabs tickles all of the right notes, the love for money, the greed yet caring person, also the fact they can actually throw hands lol. I feel it's the most fun you can get (bang for your buck if you please) with these characters, if we are to get another Spongebob episode and a Scrooge runback, this is a good way to kill two birds with one stone I feel.
27-Daisy (Super Mario) vs Alena (Dragon Quest 4)
Daisy (Mario) vs Daisy (Disney )just doesn’t fully click with me, there I said it, don’t kill me please lol. Now that is not to say I hate it or I don’t get it, I do perfectly, in fact I think it is decently thematic all things considered, but something about it just doesn’t fully convince me yet. If ya like it tho more power to you tho.
So lo and behold when my friend Munch (living JRPG encyclopedia) talked about this idea once, the tomboys princesses from distant lands that I was like “yea that fits better” an decided to add this to the daily tn. It's simple but it works, Dragon Quest and Mario have a nice similar vibe and seeing the magics clash would be interesting. In general I just think it's a fun idea, also this was a good opportunity to make my own Phosotop brushes (those flowers behind Daisy are a good example) in general yea, it was a fun time, and the matchup sounds like a fun time too! Not much else to say.
28-Osmosis Jones (Osmosis Jones) vs White Blood Cell (Cells at Work)
Its been so long since I’ve seen the Osmosis Jones show. Honestly, I grew up with it and I remember it as pretty cool. Regardless this is one of those matches that is just so specific that that makes it somehow peak? It's p’cool honestly, the idea of essentially 2 white blood cells throwing hands inside of a human body is a nice concept, it has slowly gained a following and I can see why, it frankly writes itself. Not really much else to say, it's a very cool idea, clicks immediately, sounds fun, and was definitely a lot of fun to do in TN. Not much else to say, it's just good lol.
29-Porky Minch (Earthbound) vs Eric Cartman (South Park)
I have no idea who first came up with this matchup but they are my goddamn hero lol, it is one of those matches where it just clicks immediately y’know, the one that doesn’t need a description for one to know what its whole deal is, its simple its straight to the point “shit-head kids” bam, one and done ez-pz lemon pepperoni or something idk.
Making the TN and thinking about it was very fun (the TN in particular came out rather nicely I think, love Porky’s side), the fact that a legitimate wincon would be the two stuck in the absolutely safe capsule is both gruesome and fitting. Either way I think you can do some extremely cool stuff here, would love to see it realized in a DB.
30-Whitebeard (One Piece) vs Escanor (Seven Deadly Sins)
(but can we get much higher tho?)
This one, I admit, is one of those matches that picked up super hard and pushed a lot mostly because Whitebeard is peak fiction and seeing the big fella in a DB would go hard as hell. I know nothing about Six Deadly Sins (well aside from things that happen in the manga itself) but in general people seem to be okay with Escanor so that's good by me, of the series he is the one that tends to get hyped up a lot and in that sense this match is just a very big “THEY’RE HIM” in concept which its honestly pretty cool, sometimes you just need to see Him’s throw hands to see who is the most Him of them all. So yea, I would be glad if this happened sometime in the future.
