Ani's DB Analysis Blogs: Torel, The Ocean Hunter.
Welcome to another one of these, today I bring you somebody from a game only 10 people have played, have fun!
Background
Our story starts long long ago... At the bottom of the sea where one day, from the darkness of chaos a creature was born, it’s name was Rahab, a monster of immense strength and power...a god... The deity of the ocean and master of all sea creatures. For millennia Rahab slept undisturbed at the depths of the ocean floor but one day... Something awakened it. It was humanity, sailing the vast sea with their galleons, boats and warships, they fished, lived and harvested sea life at their leisure. Rahab was furious at their insolence and vaniity, and in a rage it set out to destroy them, to tear their vessels to sunder and bring peace to the oceans. For this, Rahab gave life to 5 horrendous sea monsters to protect what was rightfully theirs.
With these monsters in hand Rahab declared war against the surface-dwellers and in it’s wrath it set it’s sons free on five of the seven seas with the sole purpose of killing humanity and stopping their endeavors. Soon, it was commonplace for Rabah’s offspring to continuously slaughter hundreds of sailors, demolishing their ships and destroying everything in their path, and for deadly storms and typhoons caused by Rahab itself to crush the hopes of any brave soul that foolishly dared to set sail on its territory.
Jump to the present day where humanity, pushed back, but as determined and eager as only humanity can be, has resorted to desperate measures to deal with these beasts. For it is said that the seven seas spread throughout the world. It is said that there is a monster for each of these seven seas. With ships being attacked one after the other. Sharks gather around the monsters and seek human flesh. The ocean has become not only a place of blessing but that of terror. And one pair of brave youthful men, Torel and Chris, have made it their mission to fight these violent monsters across the seven seas. As for enormous bounties have been set for their heads… they now travel the world to gather them, thus... becoming The Ocean Hunters.

Equipment
Telescope
Only really seen in promotional art, we can assume it works as any other telescope tho.
Diving Knife
Torel always seems to carry around a diving knife, he never really uses it in gameplay, but we can assume it works just as any other knife.
Diving gear
Now, what would a diver be without a diving suit... (death that's what). Being experienced divers and bounty hunters it's clear that they would have a state-of-the-art suit to go along their skills and it shows. Their suits’ helmets allow them to breath underwater for an almost unlimited amount of time (It can also be equipped with a flashlight to explore darker places). It was also designed to take quite a wallop, as it can withstand attacks from some of the most fierce sea animals out there like sharks, piranhas, jellyfish, fucking dinosaurs you name it sister. And to top it all off, it provides protection against the harshest of environments, like arctic oceans (although only for 15 minutes at a time) the deep sea, and even inside the body of a giant snake..monster...trumpet...thing.
Shock gun
Shock gun
Now, you cannot just go inside monster-infested waters and hope to not meet some fierce resistance, specially when the god of seas is tryng to personaly murder you, thanfully our intrepid heroes have by their side quite the weapon in the case they need to fight rouge sea-animals that wish to take a bite out of them. This is the Shock Gun, an underwater-scooter turned super-powered turret (of apparently limitless ammo) which not only provides swift movement across the vastness of the sea, it also shoots a continuous volley of 5 proyectiles that are powerful enough to put any enemy out of commision. It can one-shot almost anything that it comes across and send stronger animals reeling back and it also comes equipped with its own flashlight as well. Torel can use it both under the sea and even on land! Truly a weapon worthy of a bounty hunter.
Feats
Overall
- Has defeated countless sea-creatures and monsters.
- Somehow has also fought prehistoric animals.
- Saved a lot of divers’ lives.
- With the help of Charlie, he defeated the 5 sea monsters created by Rahab.
- Survived being eaten by Midgarsorm.
- Defeated the humongous Midgardsorm by destroying its heart.
- Defeated Rahab, ending its rain of terror and restoring peace to the seas.
- Has the coolest hair I’ve seen.
- One of the best On-Rail shooters I’ve played.
Strength
- The shots from the gun are powerful enough to destroy wooden barrels with ease.
- Their weaponry is strong enough to basically one-shot any animal that isn’t a mini-boss or main-boss… this includes stuff like Mako Shark, Hammerhead Sharks, Barracuda, Piranhas, Stingrays and a shit load more.
- The shock gun is strong enough to send Mako Sharks (and other animals) flying through the water
- Can defeat the Black Dragon, a sea iguana as large as a statue.
- The gun itself is strong enough to overpower the Kraken’s tentacles.
- These tentacles are strong enough to break a ship in half.
- The Kraken itself destroyed the floor of a pirate ship with little issue (making a small shockwave in the process).
- Its wanted poster shows it lifting a ship (a bit of an outlier but not entirely out of the question either).
- Torel has proven its worth against the Levithan (basicaly a fucking megalodon), its weaponry capable enough to harm it and even overpower it.
- The Leviathan was previously shown to one-shot a metal submarine with little issue.
- Its wanted poster states that it has brought down at least 11 ships on its own.
- It can bring down stone pillars and whole buildings like nothing.
- Destroys a small temple with ease.
- Defeated Charybdis who:
- Is said to have sunk two submarines on its own in the wanted poster.
- Its wanted poster shows it swallowing a submarine whole (possible outlier but not out of the question).
- Easily defeated Ahuizotl even while on land.
- Its wanted poster claims that it has raided at least 2 towns.
- Can overpower the gargauntian Karkinos’ claws.
- It stated on its wanted poster that it is capable of killing whales.
- In its level it's shown that it at least overpowered a baby whale.
- Its claws are strong enough to break rock.
- Managed to destroy the layer of bone that protected Midgardsorm’s heart.
- Midgardsorm is stated to have swallowed thousands of ships, it even has a whole ship graveyard on its insides.
- After enough damage Torel made Midgarsorm’s heart explode.
- Ultimately defeated Rahab in its various forms, which it was able to overpower with the strength of its Shock gun.
- In its first form, Dagon, its mere steps were strong enough to make the room they were standing in shake.
- In its second form, Poseidon, it was strong enough to tear a giant trident out of a wall like nothing.
- In its third form, Rahab, it is implied that it was able to create storms (apparently by its own word no less) However it is dubious if we can apply it, there is some evidence in the fact that there is a storm in the sea it resides, Pantarasa, but lack of evidence tells me it might not be fully applicable, either way it should be mentioned.
Speed
- Constantly reacting to several sea creatures like sharks, sea-snakes, man-eating garpikes and such these are some of the most impressive speed wise:
- The White Death, who is the first mini-boss closely resembles a great White Shark, which can swim at top speeds of 56km/h in shorts bursts.
- Scylla, another mid-boss, greatly resembles a Giant Squid, even smaller species of squid can reach top speeds of 40km/h(thanks animal planet). Due to Scylla's size it's likely it can go even faster.
- in the same vane as Scylla... Umi-Bozu resembles a giant octopus, which means that it's likely traveling at 40km/h, adjusting for its size it probably goes faster.
- Can keep up with Leviathan, who closely resembles a Megalodon.
- Although numbers vary, the modern estimates say that prehistoric Megalodons could swim at 5m/s or 18km/h. (Wikipedia article on the suject.)
- Can fight back against Charybdis suction, which can suck people instantly and apparently swallow entire submarines (take that last part with a grain of salt.)
- Taking this statement to heart, and assuming the submarines in this world are comparable to early irl subs, Charbydis suckign strength must surpass speeds of between 13-15km/h.
- kept up with Ahuizotl, even while on land.
- By closely resembling the exting Plesiosaurus, even though exact numbers are difficult to find, studies said that the top speed of one should've been around 5.4km/h.(Wikipedia article on the subject).
- Also kept up with Karkinos.
- Now, karkinos doesn't resemble many irl species of crabs, however, it lives in artic oceans and its massive in size, so we can probably compare its speed to species like the King Crab which can reach top speeds of 11km/h. Adjusting for size it means Karkinos is probably faster.
- Karkinos is stated to hunt whales, the largest species, blue whales, can reach top speeds of nearly 50km/h in short bursts, so its likely Karkinos can reach these speeds.
- Tagged Rahab's energy based attacks.
Durability
- Constantly getting hit by Sharks and other similar animals.
- These sharks have been shot to one-shot regular people.
- also man eating piranhas that can consume people in seconds
- Can get stinged by a stingray and jellyfish and even giant sea snakes.
- Other probably lesser suits can resist getting bitten by lampreys.
- Can survive attacks from the Kraken.
- As previously stated the Kraken can destroy ships on its own.
- Gets rammed against a rock
- Can take attacks from the Leviathan.
- As stated it can destroy submarines and small temples on its own.
- Can survive submerging in the Deep Sea(between 300-1450 pounds per square inch)
- Takes attacks from Karkinos who's been shown to pierce stone and kill whales on its own.
- Survived being inside of Midgardsorm.
- Took hits from Rahab, phyiscal strikes and energy based attacks.
Weaknesses
Despite having a powerful suit and a strong weapon Torel it's still just a person, and enough damage will ultimately take him down, also despite having near unlimited oxygen with the suit he still needs to.. You know, breath air. If anything were to happen to the suit then he’s screwed, and finally despite being able to fully use the shock cannon out of the water it probably hampers overall mobility, he’s better suited for aquatic combat.
Just a little extra
if you got here, I just wanna say thanks for reading through this blog, I know it's from a very obscure title but I felt like it would be good and I just wanna spread the good faith. I appreciate the fact you stopped here to at least give it a go.
I need to keep doing these, they are surprisingly fun to do, I wanted to do one of a certain character but the series (
Enjoy and have a good day!
